Husband and wife owners David and Lisa Vaughan opened Vaughan Insurance Group in 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. David has 40 years of experience in the insurance industry working in both insurance carrier and agency environments as a marketing rep, underwriter and agent. In 2021, Vaughan Insurance Group became part of Higginbotham, one of the nation’s largest independent insurance, financial and HR services firms trusted by thousands of businesses, individuals and families to protect what matters most to them.
Today, Vaughan Insurance Group serves nearly 1,000 commercial accounts with a concentration in member association professional liability insurance, oil and gas insurance, commercial construction and surety.

David Vaughan began his insurance career in 1982 as a casualty underwriter with Aetna Life & Casualty. After only one year working at Aetna, he attained the title of senior casualty underwriter.
In early 1987, David joined a Tulsa insurance agency, and in 1992, he was voted a partner with the firm, holding that role until early 2006 when he left to start Vaughan Insurance Group, LLC.
David provides all lines of coverage to eight different professional associations throughout the country, including interests such as regulatory affairs, clinical trials, erosion and sediment control, mining and mineralogy, occupational safety and health training, and waste water management. He looks to expand this field in the years to come. David also specializes in oil and gas insurance, commercial construction and surety.
After a very successful 15 years with Vaughan Insurance Group, David joined forces with Higginbotham to expand his capabilities, create new opportunities for his team and offer additional value added services to his customers.
